The realist and thoptimist

Story in 1 chapter

2 people are walking on a little route in the midle of the beautiful countryside.

They’re sharing there views on the landscape.

One of them is telling how beatiful it is and how lucky they are to be in such a beautiful environment.

The other one, tired of listening to those comments starts talking and says: « You’re such an optimist. You’re an idealist. It’s all gray and dusty, there’s almost no life. How can you tell me that it is beautiful? »

Moral of this story: The second person is looking down on the walkway and the other one is looking up and enjoys the landscape.

Question: Would it be possible that in fact realists and optimists are not looking or not seing the same things?

Little story from an optimist very interested in the realists…

The power of visualization

Thursday, November 6th, 2008

You can be in the tube or the bus and go for an inner trip in the deep regions of your imagination. In Japan, they have what they call Forest Therapy to fight the urban stress. They bring people in forest to recharge and relax.Simply imagine that you are walking in a fantastic forest. You decide if you are walking on a path or not, how wide it is, the kind of weather, the season, the kind of forest…You then make contact with each of your senses. You visualize the surrounding, the silence, the birds singing, the smell of moss, how it feels under your feet…You can spend your all trip in a much better place. You can just cool down, relax and enjoy an intimate moment with yourself in the comfort of your inner world.Just try it and enjoy.

To bark or not to bark, that is the question

Saturday, September 27th, 2008

Most of aggressive behaviors are the expression of frustration, unhappiness and some kind of misery.
When you have such a person beside you in the train, in the bus or driving a car on the road, you have the choice of answer.
You can be aggressive back, you can start your day accordingly to this person and spread anger around you later at the office.
You can as well look at this person with compassion or at least awareness of what’s happening. You can ignore the fact and stay away not to contribute with your own frustration.
I am not saying that it is easy to change reaction and to have control. The fact is that if you can not control the person around you, you have the choice and power to control yourself.

Who are those people?

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Who are those people? Why do they act like this? What do they have in mind? What do they need to believe to act this way?I am talking about those people driving crazy, acting as if they would own the road. They are the new Cowboys…Who are they? What kind of life do they have? They are affirming something with their comportment.I would like to believe that they are going to change because they’re young and stupid???Why should I bother? Just ignore them and act precisely as if they would be naughty kids with big dangerous toys. Stay as much as possible away from them and do not be upset. Do not ruin your day for someone who does not care.Don’t punish yourself being aggressive towards them.Breathe with your tummy and relax. Let it go and leave them what belongs to them.Do not play their game.Life is too short to raise your blood pressure for them.

How will Human kind become Kind Human?

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Every day is a new day, a new opportunity to try again, to do better, to share more of the best and let go of the dirt.Every day is a new chance to not do the same and not repeat what we wanted to change yesterday.Today is a real opportunity. Every minute of this white page will be our responsibility and our achievement tonight when we’ll go to bed.The world today is the result of all those individual energies, actions and decisions.Gandhi said: “You must be the change you want to see in the world”.

Contribute to a more civilized urban jungle

Friday, August 29th, 2008

Have you noticed how often you give way driving, you give way at a shop door, you give way on the pavement and you are not even acknowledge or even of course thanked? Please say thank you to them. Say thank you. Acknowledge the fact that they honor you in accepting you to give them way…Come on, we are born to give way to this superior specie of people in the urban jungle that assume that it’s normal to give them way and wait for their highness to pass. Let contribute to make this place a more civilized place and let thank them systematically. I do this all the time and sometimes, I find a light in the bottom of their eye, telling me either, “WHOTTT?” or “why does he thank me?”, or “…”!!!The worse that could happen is for people who normally thank and act in a civilized way, smile and give way to stop doing it.As Gandhi said, “an eye for an eye will make the whole world go blind”.

What are you planning to do today?

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

How different do you want this day to be compare to yesterday? Celebrate this day as an amazing potential for you. You are the one about to write this new page and it is in your hands.Nothing should stop you from writing this page exactly the way you want to write it. It is your privilege and your responsibility. Enjoy

Is Happiness contagious?

Thursday, August 7th, 2008

What do you think? If the answer is yes, are you helping others to be happy in their life? Are you spreading happiness around you with your good mood and do you think that it helps others to be happier? If the answer is no, do you have people around you who do spread happiness and does it help you being happier? It is all in our hands about having a good day or not. You just lost an important contract, you crashed your car, you credit card at the limit?Well, will you allow these things to ruin your day?If it’s your last day on earth, do you think that these events are major enough to be grumpy? We never know what our future will be… Make me a favor and give kisses, hugs and kind words to people around you today.

Joy as a Jewel

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

Why do we agree to spend time away from joy? What sorts of events are important enough to ruin our joy?I am not talking about major dramas of life. I am talking about people cutting your way driving to work, a comment from your boss, an appointment cancelled…Why do we allow these secondary events to have sometimes such an impact on our mood and our joy?Let’s spend at least a minute every day thinking and remembering about what’s really important for us.

Morning Rush?

Friday, July 11th, 2008

Our perception of time is very subjective. What time do you wake up in the morning? Do you have to rush in the morning? What an awful way to start your day.Think about it. What would happen if you would wake up half an hour earlier? You would feel tired? You would not sleep enough? In fact, waking up earlier, you would have quality time in the morning, you would not have to rush, you would be calmer and so not wasting so much energy drained into stress. Early morning is the best time of the day to prepare your day to have a good one as you prepare your bed to have a good night. Think about it and why not give it a try?
